Container transformer stations
The standard composition of transformer stations includes:
Additional equipment of a station includes:
• capacitor banks,
• measurement (meter) boards,
• UPS (emergency power supply),
• other devices, depending on client’s requirements.
Our team of engineers executes investments in a comprehensive manner – from the concept, through design and arrangements at the power plant, delivery and assembly, to guarantee and post-guarantee services. We deliver comprehensive power grid connection services.
A transformer station – an electrical power station where electrical power is switched at different voltage levels.
EG System transformer stations
We assemble and maintain transformer stations. Owing to our experience, we guarantee due performance of works, in accordance with applicable provisions and standards. We provide qualified personnel and using working devices and equipment to the highest possible operational safety levels.
Container stations
The most frequently applied transformer stations serve the purpose of transforming medium voltage (e.g. 21, 20 kV, 15.75 kV, 15 kV) into low voltage (400 V, 420 V), therefore their marking as MV/LV. The stations can be supplied with power from an overhead line or a cable line.
They are manufactured in a form of a readymade container equipped with electrical devices (transformers, MV switchgears, LV switchgears, internal systems, etc.). Such stations have different dimensions and housing types as well as different internal equipment and either a concrete or a metal housing. The stations are manufactured in numerous variants, depending on the number of transformers (single transformer, dual-transformer or multi-transformer stations).
There is a possibility of separating a medium voltage switchboard and isolating a part of a power distribution company (provider) from the part of energy recipient (Client).
There are also stations with separated rooms for power generators, batteries or other equipment, depending on clients’ needs. They are dedicated to supply power to municipal recipients, construction sites and industrial facilities from the overhead-cable grid or medium voltage cable grid and represent an alternative to indoor stations, saving internal space and guaranteeing safe power supply to a facility.
Due to individual conditions in the surroundings, the selection of station’s location should be consulted with EG System or designed based on relevant normative documents, local regulations and opinion of relevant bodies (e.g. fire protection inspector).
In the case of deliveries that include installation, our company delivers complete technical documentation necessary for proper acceptance at a power distribution company.
Depending on the access to devices, we distinguish:
• An externally operated station – without a service corridor; they are operated from the outside. The stations provide for full prefabrication and are adapted to car transport and positioning in a dedicated place as fully equipped. After positioning, they only require the connection of MV and LV cables, earthing system as well as insertion and connection of the transformer.
• An internally operated station (with an internal service corridor) – they include a corridor inside, offering access to station devices. The stations also provide for full prefabrication and are adapted to car transport and positioning in a dedicated place as fully equipped. Similarly as with an externally operated station, after positioning, they only require the connection of MV and LV cables, earthing system as well as insertion and connection of the transformer.
Depending on the housing material, we distinguish:
• Transformer stations with concrete housing
• Transformer stations with metal housing
Transformer station positioning
We render transformer station delivery and professional assembly services. Appropriate selection and positioning of a transformer station is of high significance. Therefore, after arranging all details concerning the order with a customer, we deliver transformer stations and position them in an optimal place that guarantees trouble-free operation. Qualified EG System engineers competently deal with all tasks related to connecting a transformer station, preserving top safety and observing applicable standards and regulations.
Transformer station modernisation
Transformer stations play a significant role in transmitting electrical power from generation sources to a recipient. To make the transfer efficient, transformer stations must be subject to inspections and, if necessary, repairs and modernisations. The scope of modernisation includes, among others, replacement of worn elements, such as MV switchgears, or installation of modern devices as well as extension and redevelopment of existing transformer station buildings. Our experts perform physical analyses of transformer station condition, based on which they select and implement the most beneficial solutions.
Transformer station visual examination
In order for transformer stations to operate optimally and reliably, cyclical examinations of facilities are necessary. Not only do we deliver and connect transformer stations, but we also render services in the field of maintenance and cyclical examinations. Professional inspections of transformer stations carried out by our experienced specialists allow avoiding any failures and damage of devices they supply with power. During the inspections, we use specialist equipment that allows detecting and preventing any irregularities in the operation of a transformer station.
